Biography

From Selmer, Tennessee

Former staffer Steve Beavers spent more than 20 years at the Daily Corinthian before moving to The Independent Appeal in August 2016. He now serves as assistant editor at the Selmer, Tenn., weekly newspaper, but his name will continue to appear in the Daily Corinthian as a contributor.

The McNairy County, Tenn., native began his career at the Daily Corinthian's sister publication – The Banner Independent – in November 1996 as sports writer. He moved to the Daily Corinthian full-time as a sports writer, following almost four years in Booneville, in 2000. In 2010, he become staff writer/photographer at the Corinth newspaper. Beavers has over 30 years in the newspaper profession.
