For Shane Latch, being a law enforcement officer is in his blood. “It’s my passion,” he said. “I got out of it for a few years and worked in a factory ... but that didn’t last.” With time at police departments in Corinth and Booneville, the Alcorn County Sheriff’s deputy wants to make the community better by protecting and serving to “the best of my ability.” He said the hardest part of his job is seeing children or elderly mistreated. Latch is married to Jessica, and they have three children – Ainsley, 5, Hadley, 3, and Bentley, 1. / Staff photo by Zack Steen
