FARMINGTON — Proclaiming a strong, vibrant message about God’s love for mankind, Farmington Baptist Church will present “Shepherds and Kings” this Christmas season.

The dramatic Broadway-style musical, created by Joel Lindsey, Jeff Bumgardner, Dr. Heidi Petak and Daniel Semsen will be presented at 6 p.m. on Sunday with an encore presentation at 7 p.m. on Monday.

Written by Dr. Petak and arranged and orchestrated by Semsen, the play relates the story of a widow and a waitress who give each other the gift of hope in unexpected ways.

Set in Mattiello’s (an Italian diner), the production’s colorful characters and intertwined relationships will take the hearts of patrons to exciting heights and depths through various twists, turns and surprises.

“While we all have our own secret pains, ‘Shepherds and Kings’ reminds us that through God’s gift of Jesus Christ at Christmas, we are never alone,” said Farmington Music Minister Bryan Essary, who is directing the musical. “It is going to be a powerful, intriguing, emotional show you won’t want to miss.”

Featuring several Corinth Theatre-Arts veterans, including the director and assistant to the director, the musical is free and open to the public.

(Farmington Baptist Church is located at 84 CR 106A in Corinth. For more information contact the church at 662-286-8855 or Director Bryan Essary at 662-665-1244.)
