Basket fund nears $8,000

The 21st Annual Corinth Rotary Club/Daily Corinthian Christmas Basket Fund is close to the $8,000 mark.

A $23,000 fund raising goal was set so 1,000 food baskets could be given to local families on Saturday, Dec. 17. The baskets were given away on faith the goal will be reached.

The newspaper has received $7,955 in donations so far.

Donations include a $25 from James M. and Dorothy Eley; $25 from Gale Judkins; $45 from Connie Holland in memory of John Albright and Randy Holland; $100 from Mr. and Mrs. Billy J. Newcomb in memory of Jeff Newcomb; and $300 from Covenant Presbyterian Church in memory of Jon Smith, Burlene Whirley and Goldie Johnson.

Christmas Basket Fund donations can be made “in honor of” or “in memory of” a special person or persons. The tribute will be published in the Daily Corinthian.

The special fund will remain active until the end of the year.
