Undercover drug operation leads to five arrests

Two Rienzi residents were among five people recently indicted on drug charges.

Prentiss County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the group following a several month long undercover narcotics investigation into illicit drug activity in Prentiss County.

The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit assisted in the investigation.

Leland Tyrell Fieds, 24, of County Road 1090 in Rienzi, was Indicted on the charge of possession of controlled substance. His bond was set at $5,000.

Brandon Cory Horton, 32, of County Road 8360 in Rienzi, was indicted on the sale of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $10,000.

Cary Shane Eaton, 42, of County Road 2072 in Booneville, was indicted for the sale of a controlled substance enhanced sale within 1,500 feet of a school. His bond was set at $20,000.

Carla Jane Burcham, 19, of County Road 3130 in Booneville, was indicted for sale of controlled substance, sale of a counterfeit substance and child abuse allowing a child to be present at the time of offense and possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute. Her bond was set at $20,000.

Kayla Mae Crain, 27 of County Road 3130 in Booneville, was indicted for sale of controlled substance, sale of counterfeit substance, child abuse-allowing a child to be present during a transaction. Her bond was set at $10,000.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections also has a hold on Crain.
