Popular
demand adds two
more sessions to Green
Market at the Corinth Depot

Due to popular demand by both customers and vendors
the Green Market at the Corinth Depot will add two more
sessions to their 2009 season.
Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Program Director
Karen Beth Martin said there will be Green Market sessions in
November and December, with December being a special holiday session
taking place in the afternoon/evening the Red Green Market.
The Green Market at the Corinth Depot was originally intended
to take place the second Saturday of every month from May until
October. However, Martin said that both vendors and customers
have voiced their desire to have extra sessions.
Weve had some pretty strong requests to have another
session. When I was planning it, I thought that the sellers would
want a break but that does not appear to be the case and so I
got to thinking ...
Well, the weather isnt really that bad in November,
said Martin. The next session is scheduled from 8 a.m.-1p.m.,
Saturday, Oct. 10, on the grounds of the Corinth Depot, located
at 215 North Fillmore.
Martin said there will be more local honey for sale, as well as
many other bpopular items.
Baked goods are really popular; jewelry is always popular;
produce, of course; the metal flowers any kind of yard
art is popular ... we have all kinds of cool stuff and people
just have to come and see because you never know what you will
find ... many vendors show up the day of the market, said
Martin.
Martin said the Nov. 14 session will be a regular edition of the
Green Market and sellers are welcome to come and set up around
7 a.m. the day of the market.
However, the December session will be a different type of event
all together, according to Martin. The December session is called
the Red Green Market and the atmosphere takes inspiration
from European holiday markets.
There will be many differences for the Red Green Market from the
regular sessions. Among the first difference is the fact that
it will take place in the afternoon/evening from 1-8 p.m.
on Saturday, Dec. 5, the day of the Corinth Christmas Parade.
Another difference that Martin noted is that the CACVB will provide
the event tent for the occasion and sellers need only provide
their table and chairs. The tent will be strung with Christmas
lights and hot cider will be served, and it is tentatively planned
that there will be carolers to perform.
The price will be higher for the special edition $35 per
booth and all booths must be pre-paid and reservations
are required, due to limited space, and sellers are also required
to decorate their tables with a Christmas theme.
We also strongly encourage the sellers to have special offers
such as gift wrapping for that day, said Martin. There
is limited space so those spaces will go to whoever gets their
money and applications in first.
Martin said she would provide more details about the Red Green
Market as they are finalized and the event nears. To obtain an
application to participate in the Green Market at the Corinth
Depot or the Red Green Market, simply call the CACVB at 662-287-8300
