Flyer for joint events 2014 final sw 1
pdf file

I am contacting you regarding an important community event that we are bringing to your area soon.  There are 3 disability agencies that collaborate and pool resources to provide an open and free opportunity for individuals to have their voices heard and to hear about resources and programs that may be available to them.  The agencies are Disability Rights MS (DRMS), The Institute for Disability Studies at USM (IDS), and the MS Council on Developmental Disabilities (MSCDD).  This is our 5th year of going around the state in an effort to provide face to face contact and make it easier for people to have an opportunity to meet the Executive Directors for these agencies, as well as hear about work and projects that have evolved as a result of these community forums over the past few years.  Issues addressed will range from employment to early childhood intervention, and much more. I am attaching the flyer to this email, with the information, but the specifics for your area is that we will host the free event at the First Regional Library in Southaven from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. We have tried to accommodate as much as we can by not interfering with Wed evening services, or with work or school. We highly encourage parents of children with disabilities, family members, service providers, individuals themselves, special ed teachers, and city leaders to attend these lively and informative forums and I'm reaching out to you in an effort to request your support by helping spread the word to those you feel would benefit. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have and my contact information is listed below.  I thank you for your time and consideration in this community matter and welcome any input you may have.
