STARKVILLE, Miss. – A jam-packed weekend in Starkville kicks off inside Davis Wade Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 8:30 p.m. CT with Mississippi State’s seventh annual Cowbell Yell.

Bulldog fans of all ages are encouraged to bring their cowbells to gear up for Saturday night’s SEC opener against No. 11 LSU with the yearly tradition. Fans will be able to enter the stadium through Gate F beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Free t-shirts are available for the first 500 students in attendance. Cowbells will also be randomly given away to 50 students during the event, while 15 lucky students will receive prize packs from Trustmark Bank.

The event is hosted by Matt Wyatt, former MSU quarterback and MSU Sports Radio Network analyst, and Bob Carskadon, HailStateBEAT digital media reporter.

Among others, this year’s pep rally will feature appearances by former MSU football player Anthony “Boobie” Dixon, new play-by-play announcer Neil Price, the Famous Maroon Band, MSU spirit groups, head coach Dan Mullen, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and members of the team.

Fans can purchase Maroon Memories experiences for Cowbell Yell, including early entry passes and photos with featured speakers. Learn more at hailstate.com/memories.

Cowbell Yell is free and open to all students, faculty, staff, fans and community members. For more information about Cowbell Yell 2017, call the Student Association at 662-325-2930 or visit www.sa.msstate.edu.
