An Alcorn County man faces a burglary charge after a homeowner came home to find their neighbor in the house.

The suspect remained in the Alcorn County Jail Friday in lieu of a $50,000 bond set.

Alcorn County Sheriff Ben Caldwell told the Daily Corinthian the suspect was 42-year-old Jason Calvary of Alcorn County Road 306. He faces a charge of breaking and entering a residential dwelling.

A homeowner on Alcorn County Road 306 in the Strickland area arrived home just after noon on Thursday and discovered a man in the house, thought to be a neighbor, said the sheriff.

Sheriff’s office investigators arrived on the scene and arrested Calvary when officers discovered many household items were collected and stacked at the front door of the house, he said.

“The items were stacked in a manner at the door to be taken out,” said Caldwell. “The suspect was then taken into custody.”
