An Alcorn County woman died in a single-vehicle crash in the Wenasoga area Monday morning.

Coroner Jay Jones identified the woman as Noreen Williams, 66, of County Road 727. The crash was reported to 911 at 8:21 a.m.

It happened on County Road 702 (Forest School Road) near the area of the railroad tracks. Jones said it appeared the motorist lost control of the vehicle as it rounded a curve. The vehicle hit a ditch, flipped and collided with a tree.

Williams was going to pick up her daughter at the time of the crash.

Responding agencies included Magnolia EMS, Wenasoga VFD and Corinth Fire Department.

Memorial Funeral Home will have the funeral arrangements.
