C.A.R.E. Advisory Board member Orma Smith and Corinth Alderman J.C. Hill display their first community donation of $100 toward a new playground at E.S. Bishop Park. The donation came after Thursday night’s meeting at the Johns Street Community Center. During the meeting, Smith unveiled a check for $15,000 toward the $45,000 project. The money is intended to seed what was described as the second largest project C.A.R.E. Foundation has ever done in the community. Community members have now been commissioned with a goal — to raise the additional $30,000 in 30 days. (For the full story, check out the Saturday print and e-edition of the Daily Corinthian.)
