School’s handicap entrance being discussed by board
I read with great interest the progress on our new elementary school and the remodeling of the current Corinth Junior High. I have a question. Was the Change Request ever approved for the handicap entrance to the building at the Junior High? This entrance would not only benefit any student who is physically challenged, but also any citizen who wants to visit the school or attend any program offered there.
(Editor's note: The board of trustees continues to discuss options for the configuration of the handicap entrance, and the design is yet to be finalized.)
What’s wrong with CASH?
Has anyone walked into a place of business to pay a bill with cash and been told that because you pay with cash there is a fee you have to pay? What’s up with that? Makes no sense to me …
Loves new DC Web site
I am loving the new dailycorinthian.com! The site is easy to navigate, and the ability to comment on articles is great. Good job DC!
Small deeds do count
In regard to the Sound Off, “Teacher makes a difference,” on Feb. 16 — I wish every teacher would read this Sound Off and examine themselves to see what such a small deed could do to change a child’s life instead of running the child down. Teachers seem to have gotten into a different attitude since the old school. Just a smile and kind word goes a long way. I know some who still care, and thank God for them.
And whoever wrote this, is not alone. I am consistently embarrassed by the sound offs in this newspaper. Rare is the one that is well thought out, data supported, and well written. I ask not for a sound off column that is equal to that of the NYTs editorials, but one that is befitting our community. Think, folks, of your community being represented by your words in these sound offs before you go writing to the paper the first thought that pops into your mind.
